The Krishna temple of Govind dev ji at Jaipur

The temple of Govind dev ji is a major tourist attraction of Jaipur, Rajasthan. This temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. Govind devji temple is situated inside the compound of The City Palace complex between “Badal Mahal” and the “Chandra Mahal”. It is said that the King and founder of Jaipur, Sawai Jai Singh dreamt of Lord Govind Devji who instructed him to bring his idol from the city of Vrindavan to Jaipur. The present temple at the site was initiatively built by King Man Singh in the year 1890.

The divine view of the beautiful idols of Radha - Krishna doesn't let devotees to take off their eyes. Lord Krishna's image in this temple resembles the same Krishna form during his incarnation in the world. Different kinds of 'Aartis' (holy chant) and 'Bhog' (offerings) are offered to the idol seven times a day. Every time when the idols are revealed, they are embellished and clothed in different way. 

Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna, is a special event in this place and is celebrated with full enthusiasm and holism. The sacred chant of “Jai Govind” reverberates throughout the temple by the visiting devotees.
