Krishna marriage with Lakshmana and Rohini

Lakshmana was the wife of Lord Krishna and the last of the Asthabharya the eight principal queen-consorts. She was the daughter of an unnamed ruler of Madra provinces. The King organized the swayamvara ceremony, where the archer had to shoot the target to win the hand of bride for marriage. Among all the princes gathered, Duryodhana and Jarasandha miss the target. Arjun the Pandava prince and Krishna's cousin, described as the best archer at times, missed his aim at the target intentionally. Arjun’s brother Bhima refused to participate in deference to Krishna. Ultimately, Lord Krishna wins by hitting the target and got married to her. Rohini is also Krishna’s wife and one of the Asthabharya.
Whereas in The Bhagavata Purana it is mentioned that Lord Krishna abducts Lakshmana from the swayamvara.

Rukamani prominent queen of Krishna

Rukmani is the first and most prominent queen of the Lord Krishna the king of Dwarka.Rukmani is considered as the incarnation of goddess Lakshmi who wanted to marry and stay with her husband Lord Vishnu on earth. It is believed that Rukmani was the only woman who was just as beautiful and virtuous as Radha. This story depicts how Lord Krishna heroically abducted her and eloped with her to prevent an unwanted marriage at her request and saved her from an evil Shishupal.

Rukmini was the daughter of Bhishmaka, the King of Vidarbha. She secretly developed the love for Lord Krishna in her heart. Her brother Rukmi was a friend of Jarasandha, who was an enemy of Krishna. Rukmi wanted Rukmani to marry his friend Shishupala the crown prince of Chedi and also a friend of Jarasandha and was against Krishna. Rukmi arranged for Rukmini's wedding by convincing his father to marry her with Shishupala, who actually wanted Rukmini to marry Krishna. When Rukmini heard this news she wrote a letter to Lord Krishna about her love for him and her brother's plans and sent it through a Brahmana. She asked Lord Krishna to kidnap her on her way to temple or back. Lord Krishna after reading the letter at once left for Vidarbha along with his brother Balarama.

Meanwhile, Shishupala was over the moon at the news from Rukmi that he could simply go to Kundina (present day Koundanyapur) Amravati district and claim Rukmini. Jarasandha felt something wrong and doubt that Krishna might interrupt the wedding thus sent all his vassals and allies along with him. And other hand when Bhishmaka heard about Krishna's arrival he joyfully set up a furnished mansion for Krishna to take rest on his way.

Rukmini went to the Parvati temple but could not see Krishna anywhere, she prayed to goddess Parvati that Krishna takes her away. Rukmini when she stepped out of the temple she saw Krishna waiting for her, he soon swept her into his chariot with him. They both started to ride off when Shishupala noticed them and instantly Jarasandha's forces started chasing them. Balarama tried to stop and occupied most of them but Rukmi almost caught Krishna.

Lord Krishna and Rukmi fought with the predictable result of Krishna's victory. When Krishna was about to kill him, Rukmini fell at the feet of Krishna and begged to spare her brother's life. Lord Krishna generously agreed but as punishment, shaved Rukmi's head and let him go free. There was no greater shame for a warrior than a visible sign of defeat.

Lord Krishna came to the village of Madhavpur Ghed with Rukmini and got married to her at this very place. In the memory of that event now there is a temple built for Lord Madhavrai. In memory of this marriage a celebration is held at Madhavpur every year. Later in Dwaraka, Lord Krishna was married to Rukmini with big ceremony.

Complying with her wishes, Lord Krishna kidnaped her from the venue of the svayamavara where he was challenged by her brothers, Duryodhana and other princes who wanted to marry Mitravinda. 16100 wives of Lord Krishna

Lord Krishna is a Hindu deity, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. As legend Lord Krishna was married to 16100 women. Lord Krishna mainly had eight wives and thus he was also called Ashtabharya (Ashta means eight and Bharya means wife) According to Bhagavata purana the eight wives of Lord Krishna were Rukmini, Satyabhama, Jambavati, Kalindi, Mitravinda, Nagnajiti, Bhadra and Lakshmana. This article depicts the story that how Lord Krishna got married to rest 16100 wives.

Narakasura named demon kidnapped 16100 women for the sake of his comfort and imprisoned them in his capital city Pragjyotisha. Narakasura is believed to be the son of mother earth thus he was also called Bhaumasura (Bhumi means earth and Asura means demon).

Once Narakasura stole the ear-rings of Aditi, the daughter of Lord Brahma. Her son’s demigods were not able to fight back against Narakasura. They asked Lord Krishna for help and on their request Lord Krishna along with his wife Sathyabhama attacked Pragjyotisha on his vehicle Garuda (eagle). Lord Krishna and Sathyabhama fought a fierce battle against the demons and slayed many powerful demons including Mura and Narakasura. Narakasura had the curse of being killed by his own mother, Sathyabhama is considered as the incarnation of Mother earth, and thus she killed him.

After killing Narakasura Lord Krishna released 16,100 women asked them to return to their houses which they refused. They knew very well that the society of that age would not accept them with honor and good reputation as they were taken by another man. When Lord Krishna asked them what they wanted to do, they all wanted Krishna to marry them.

Seeing they were left with nowhere to go Lord Krishna married them all at the same auspicious time. It was impossible to live with each of them so he created 16100 forms of himself so each could gain status of married women and live in the society with honor again. Lord Krishna created them each a palace with huge gardens full of colorful flowers. Legend say that each of them had 10 sons and 1 daughter,

Over turning of Cart resulting the death of Demon Sakatasura

Lord Krishna the Hindu god was born to Vasudev and Devaki but was bought and raised by his foster parents Nandalal and when mother Yashodha in village named Vrindavana. As per hindu custom the ceremony called Uthana is celebrated which means the properly bath of child. When Lord Krishna turned three months old, mother Yashoda celebrated this ceremony with neighborhood women. Same time Kansa the maternal uncle of Lord Krishna sent Sakatasura Demon to kill him. Sakatasura took the form of cart with the intention to crush the little baby Krishna.

Mother Yasoda found her child closing his eyes in sleep after the bath so she put him under the cart on bed lying there. The cart was full of vessels full of milk and curd. After a while the baby Krishna opened his eyes and cried for milk. Mother Yahsoda was engaged in receiving her guests so she did not hear baby Krishna’s cry. Lord Krishna crying angrily for his mother's milk pushed his leg upward resulting cart to collapse. The cart collapsed violently, the wheels separated from the axle, the hubs and spokes fell apart, the pole of the handcart broke and all the vessels scattered. This incident resulted the death of the demon Sakatasura.

When mother Yashoda with neighborhood ladies and other villagers assembled for the utthana festival, saw this unexpected situation, they began to wonder how the handcart collapsed by itself. As they were trying to find out the cause the small children present stated that the cart had been kicked apart by the baby Krishna.
The assembled villagers unaware that Krishna is always unlimited could not believe that baby Krishna had such incredible power. They could not believe the statements of the children, and therefore they neglected these statements as being childish talk. They did not realize the immeasurable strength of that child.

MeeraBai's Love for Shree Krishna

MeeraBai as we all know and heard the stories of her unconditional and devotional love for Lord Krishna still we have one inspired story to tell.

Meerabai once was standing on the banks of Yamuna River. She was busy in singing bhajan in glory of Lord Krishna. Same time some Vaishnava’s saint passing that way recognized Meera. Knowing her greatness and devotion, they prostrated in front of Meera and said that they came from Dwaraka. They said that the doors of the temple of Dwaraka have been remained closed for some time now and we are of the collective opinion that only a person of your stature can get the doors open. Meera said I cannot refuse the wish of Vaishnava saint and want everyone to have darshan of Srinathji-the presiding deity of Dwaraka.

Meera went Dwaraka along with priest and offered her prayers to Lord Krishna and sang devotional bhajans. Meerabai asked Lord Krishna to accept her prayers, bless her by taking her in lotus feet’s of him and give darshan. She said in this world you are the only one I know and believe. She said you are everything to me my father, mother, husband and guru. There is no other protector in this world other than you. I have suffered a lot of trials and tribulations in this world

Many Devotees gathered around in joy and happiness to see Lord Krishna. The doors opened suddenly and Lord Krishna with his beautiful lotus eyes and broad smile welcomed MeeraBai. MeeraBai immediately ran into the temple and embraced her Lord and with a flash of bright light she became one with the lord and her form vanished
